Associazione Bocciofila Genovese

The Genoa Bowls' Association (A.B.G.) was founded in November 1913 thanks to the active interest of Mr. Giacomo Rossi and Mr. Ernesto Carpi, respectively the first President and the first Secretary.

Since its foundation, the sports complex has been located in a central area of the city, surrounded by greenery and encircled by ancient 17th century walls.

A.B.G. is characterised not only by a glorious sporting past, but also as the Society of the "Zerbino", whose name derives from this central urban area. To give an idea of the charisma that has always distinguished the Zerbino among bowls enthusiasts, it is enough to recall that the technical rules of bowls in Chile are called "Zerbin", from Zerbino. This gives a sense of the good memory left by the Zerbino in the many Ligurian emigrants who managed to impose it in the South American continent as the first rule of the game of bowls.

Beach Volleyball

The court, which was opened on 15 June 2011, is available to our members and can also be used for night matches thanks to the lighting.
